ARC Raiders Announces Second Public Tech Test Start Date and Time

Embark Studios has announced the second public tech test for its upcoming PvPvE sandbox extraction shooter, ARC Raiders, running from April 30 until May 4. The ARC Raiders public network test will be available across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and players can already sign up.

ARC Raiders was originally revealed at The Game Awards 2021, and although the title was initially intended as a purely cooperative PvE experience, the developer later incorporated PvPvE elements where players face off against both AI enemies and human squads. The project is being carried out by Embark Studios, the developer behind The Finals, a free-to-play FPS where teams of players compete in a virtual game show. Even though ARC Raiders still doesn’t have a confirmed release date, players eager for its launch can now participate in the upcoming public test.

Embark Studios has confirmed that the second public tech test for ARC Raiders will take place from April 30 to May 4. Those who wish to participate can sign up on Steam or through the game’s official website, gaining a chance to explore ARC Raiders’ sandbox environment prior to its launch. In this new test, the developer promises players will see new improvements, a wider range of enemies and weapons, and better player progression, while also getting a preview of the game’s Battle Pass.

When Is ARC Raiders’ Second Public Tech Test Happening?

The executive producer of the upcoming free-to-play ARC Raiders, Aleksander Grondal, said in a press release that the team has been working hard to improve the game, paying close attention to player feedback. Grondal believes this second public tech test is Embark Studios’ chance to see how the changes play out, though the developer will remain open to any new feedback moving forward, especially suggestions related to progression, combat, and cross-platform performance. Grondal also emphasized that the team wants to know “how the experience feels now that it’s more expansive and layered.”

Even though ARC Raiders experienced some delays during its development, the game may now be closer than ever to release. As described on its Steam page, ARC Raiders will offer an intriguing blend of survival, extraction shooter mechanics, and an open-world environment, all within a layered narrative where players must survive the assault of machines. While players continue waiting for the official release date announcement, they can sign up for the upcoming public tech test starting on April 30.
