Destiny 2: Root of Nightmares Loot Table

Root of Nightmares is one of the (if not the) easiest raids in Destiny 2. It sends you and your fireteam to the Pyramid ship hit by the Traveler, where you must deal with the Final God of Pain, Nezarec. The mechanics in this raid are very straightforward, and you can farm it for decent loot, including one of the most coveted PvP Exotics in the game.

For those wondering what can be earned by participating in this raid, here’s a complete breakdown of the loot you can get by completing each encounter in the Root of Nightmares raid in Destiny 2.

Armor

All Legendary weapons from the Root of Nightmares raid come with the Harmonic Resonance Origin Trait. Equipping multiple weapons from this set increases reload speed, handling, and damage against enemies wielding Light or Darkness. Such enemies include Lucent Hive, the Dread, and Nezarec himself.

The Exotic in the Root of Nightmares is the Conditional Finality Stasis shotgun. While it’s Stasis and goes into your Kinetic slot, the first shot fires Stasis pellets, and the second fires Solar. Landing nearly all pellets freezes or ignites the target, respectively. Conditional Finality is a popular PvP shotgun, but it can also be a powerful tool in PvE, especially with its anti-Champion capabilities.

Other weapons to look out for in this raid are Rufus’s Fury Strand auto rifle, which can roll Rewind Rounds and Hatchling, and Acasia’s Dejection trace rifle with Reconstruction and Incandescent. Briar’s Contempt is a decent Solar linear fusion rifle if you’re looking for an Adaptive Frame (triple-burst) linear, but it lacks top-tier damage perks, like Bait and Switch.

How to Farm Root of Nightmares in Destiny 2

destiny 2 root of nightmares solo

The Root of Nightmares is a part of the weekly raid rotation, and you can only farm it when it’s the weekly featured raid. Featured raids have a raid icon next to them on the Destinations map, so it’s easy to tell which ones are farmable this week.

You can still do the raid and get loot when the raid isn’t featured, but you’ll only get rewards when completing each encounter for the first time on each character per week.

The best encounter to farm is Nezarec, as it drops all Legendary weapons and Conditional Finality, the most sought-after drop in Root of Nightmares. However, when the raid is featured, you can also attempt encounter challenges on Master difficulty to earn Adept versions of the Legendary weapons.
