These plans have now been made official with the latest Escape from Tarkov content roadmap, which outlines the game’s upcoming updates planned to roll out throughout the remainder of 2025. The final item on the newly shared agenda is the 1.0 release, which was listed without a concrete launch window. However, seeing how the update preceding it is targeting an August debut, the implication is that the 1.0 version of Escape from Tarkov will launch between September and December 2025.

Escape from Tarkov Preliminary 2025 Content Roadmap

In the meantime, Battlestate Games is planning four other Escape from Tarkov patches, starting with the 0.16.6.0 update that’s meant to roll out in May 2025. This revision will introduce visual improvements, Lighthouse map optimizations, AI tweaks, and balancing changes. Audio improvements for the Shoreline map will also be part of the package, together with fixes for the missing third-person sound effects of armor and helmet impacts. The 0.16.6.0 patch will also introduce a new in-game event.

Moving forward, Escape from Tarkov is planned to receive another update in June 2025. Identified by version number 0.16.70, this release will include bug fixes, additional AI behavior adjustments, the summer weather season, and audio engine improvements. Furthermore, Escape from Tarkov‘s Reserve map will receive some tailor-made optimizations as part of this update, which will also improve the obstacle processing algorithm in order to deliver better audio occlusion performance. For reference, audio occlusion is a technique that modifies sounds coming from behind a wall or another obstacle to make them more realistic.

Battlestate Games’ latest roadmap also includes a July 2025 update, identified by version number 0.16.8.0. This release will introduce optimizations for the Shoreline and Ground Zero maps, as well as a complete rework of third-person gunshot sounds. An unspecified number of bug fixes will also be part of the package, together with another in-game event. The final pre-1.0 update is planned for August 2025, when Escape from Tarkov is slated to receive its 0.16.9.0 patch. This build promises to expand and optimize the Interchange map, in addition to debuting more bug fixes and a “large-scale” in-game event. Escape from Tarkov version 1.0 is planned to launch sometime between the 0.16.9.0 update and the end of 2025.
