Pokimane Accuses Twitch Employee of Faking Relationship With Her

Pokimane has stated in a new podcast that a former Twitch employee took advantage of their position and used the opportunity to fake being in a relationship with the popular streamer. Though Pokimane had mentioned this person previously, prior mentions didn’t include the key information that they worked for Twitch.

Streaming on Twitch can be extremely lucrative, but especially for popular streamers, it can come with downsides. In recent times alone, streamers have faced being publicly accosted with threats while streaming IRL, or even dealing with attacks at home, as Amouranth reported earlier in 2025. Unfortunately, it sounds as though Pokimane was dealing with someone who was taking advantage of their position when they should have been helping to prevent this kind of activity.

During the April 19 episode of the Sweet n Sour podcast, Pokimane discussed the former Twitch employee and how he had taken advantage of his position to manipulate women. According to Pokimane, this unnamed Twitch employee not only worked for the company, but directly acted as a mod for Pokimane at one point. However, it came to her attention in 2023 that he was using his position at Twitch to build friendships with female viewers, and would then manipulate them by claiming that he was in a romantic relationship with Pokimane, while also alleging that she was abusive. Worst of all, this employee was in the safety department with Twitch, and even helped with the creation of the Twitch automod.

Twitch Employee Used His Position to Gain Attention

Pokimane gave more information, explaining that once he had the sympathy of female viewers, he’d try to get into relationships with them and even did what he could to get inappropriate pictures of them. She also claims that he would share Pokimane’s Twitch revenue with these women.

Pokimane remained quiet about these allegations at the time, as she was working with Twitch behind the scenes to investigate the employee’s actions. However, after that investigation began, he announced that he was leaving Twitch for Riot. Pokimane says she’s since reached out to the women impacted as well as Riot Games to warn the studio regarding the situation.

It’s not known what happened to the employee once they left for Riot. Pokimane says that there wasn’t much she could do legally about the situation herself, so Riot may have taken the information as hearsay, even with it coming from a popular streaming name. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first instance of someone in a position of power taking advantage of a Twitch streamer’s audience, and it probably won’t be the last.
