Fortnite Leaker Has Bad News for Adventure Time Fans

A popular Fortnite leaker has shared that, according to their sources, a second wave of Adventure Time cosmetics is not currently in development. Fortnite is nearing the end of Chapter 6 Season 2, which has been criticized by some fans for its heist mechanics and underwhelming loot.

Epic Games has announced that its next season will feature a major collaboration with Star Wars. A teaser trailer released at Star Wars Celebration Japan revealed that gamers will soon be able to take to the skies in X-Wings and Tie Fighters as the Death Star looms over the island. Fortnite‘s Star Wars collaboration will feature weekly updates meant to shake up gameplay with new items and story quests that will culminate in a major live event at the end of the season.

Many fans of the show seemed to be disappointed by the news, as they were hoping that the collaboration would continue to add more and more characters from the popular show. However, as ShiinaBR mentions, this doesn’t mean fans won’t see more Adventure Time cosmetics in the future, it just means that they likely won’t show up anytime soon. Depending on how well the first wave of cosmetics was received, Warner Bros. could decide to organize another crossover with Fortnite in the future.

Fortnite May Not Receive More Adventure Time Cosmetics

While many gamers enjoyed the collaboration between Adventure Time and Fortnite, a large portion of the community was unhappy with the way Epic Games handled its debut in the Item Shop. Typically, all crossover items are bundled together and offered up at a discounted price. While some of the Adventure Time cosmetics were bundled together, a variety of items weren’t. This led to a lot of frustration for some players, as it meant acquiring all the cosmetics came at a rather high price. Many people are hoping that a future wave of cosmetics will be handled differently.

It’s not uncommon for major collaborations to roll out over several years, especially when adding a wide variety of characters to the game. According to recent rumors, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may be crossing over with Fortnite again. Leakers have claimed that characters like Casey Jones, Rocksteady, Bebop, and Krang are all going to appear in the Item Shop in the near future. It’s also expected that the turtles’ iconic van will make an appearance in both Fortnite and Rocket League. With so many crossovers to enjoy and a wealth of new content on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of the popular battle royale.
