The Riot Games tactical shooter is coming to mobile. But when?
If you’ve always wanted the option to play VALORANT on the go instead of having to switch on your PC or console every time, we’ve got some exciting scoop on the highly anticipated launch of VALORANT Mobile.
Riot Games has always strived to keep VALORANT Mobile’s development under wraps, although players have been catching glimpses through leaks from closed tests since way back in 2022. From replays to special MVP animations, the mobile version reportedly has a lot more to offer than what we’ve got on PC, Xbox, or PlayStation.
Here’s when you can expect VALORANT Mobile to release.
When is VALORANT Mobile coming out? Expected release window

At the time of writing, Riot Games hasn’t announced the final release date for VALORANT Mobile. That said, pre-registrations for the game are now live in China and a play test has been scheduled for those who sign up. Considering these developments, there’s a lot of speculation about the global release date that you may want to know.
If you reside in China, you can now sign up for an upcoming play test using your QQ or WeChat account. Riot hasn’t revealed the exact dates for the play test, but it’s definitely coming soon.
If you reside in a region outside of China, however, you’ll have to wait. Riot has planned to release VALORANT Mobile in phases, the first phase being a China-only launch. According to Anna Donlon, Studio Head at VALORANT, the team chose to go for a local launch first considering the port was developed by Tencent’s LightSpeed Studios, a well-established Chinese developer. China also houses one of the largest and most-skilled mobile FPS communities in the world, so it makes sense to go for a test launch here before targeting the global market.
Considering Riot’s pace and the expert predictions so far, VALORANT Mobile may launch globally by late 2025. Again, this is just speculation, so you may want to take it with a grain of salt.
The global release also depends on the success of the China launch. But the mobile port has been in closed testing for a long time. According to Andy Ho, Executive Producer, while building the mobile version, Lightspeed was able to preserve the best parts of the original game on PC without compromising on performance. And considering how excited the mobile gaming communities across the world have been about a mobile VALORANT game, a global launch by the end of the year seems inevitable.
