Oblivion Remastered was one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming, with numerous leaks taking place in the months and weeks leading up to its release. However, one thing that wasn’t quite clear in the buildup to the game’s launch was whether it would be available on the PlayStation 5 or Switch 2. Thankfully, the answer to one of these questions has now been revealed.

The PS5 version of Oblivion Remastered is already available for purchase on the PlayStation Store, although whether the game will be coming to the Switch 2 remains a mystery. Some Elder Scrolls fans may also be keen to learn whether Oblivion Remastered will be available on subscription services like PlayStation Plus or Game Pass, and which platform it’s best to play it on.
All Platforms for Oblivion Remastered
At launch, Oblivion Remastered is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series consoles. As of the time of writing, there’s been no official word on whether the game will be coming to the Switch 2, although as Nintendo’s newest console won’t be available for another month or so, those desperate to play Oblivion Remastered probably won’t want to wait to find out.
Is Oblivion Remastered on Game Pass or PlayStation Plus?
Oblivion Remastered is available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch. However, it’s not on PlayStation Plus, nor does it seem too likely that it will be making its way to the service anytime soon. To date, no Microsoft game has ever been made available on PlayStation Plus, so the chances of it happening with Oblivion Remastered seem exceedingly slim.
Should You Buy Oblivion Remastered on PlayStation or PC?
Although Oblivion Remastered doesn’t have official mod support at launch, that’s unlikely to remain the case forever. Even if it does, there are already mods popping up at places like Nexus, so that’s one area where the PC version of Oblivion Remastered has the upper hand. The PC port also has a much higher ceiling when it comes to graphics and performance, although those with older rigs may find that the PS5 version runs a little smoother due to how much easier it is to optimize for consoles. Tldr: If you have a high-end rig or care about mod support, you should play Oblivion Remastered on PC. If your gaming PC is close to the minimum system requirements, you may want to consider playing it on PS5 or Xbox instead.
