Space Marine 2: Best Classes For Operations, Ranked

Players are going to want to bring the best Ultramarines for the job in Space Marine 2’s Operations to dominate the PvE content with ease.

The individual player’s style will heavily dictate the best Prestige Perks for the Heavy Class in Space Marine 2, but there are some perks that are most certainly better than others, so players can look below to see which perks they should be aiming for whenever they hit that Prestige in challenging encounters.

Restorative Capacity

Remove Toxic/Corruption When Activating Iron Halo

  • Activating Iron Halo removes negative Status Effects

Restorative Capacity is perhaps the worst of the Heavy’s Prestige Perks, as all it does is remove the negative Status Effects that players might obtain, but only if they activate the Iron Halo Class Ability. This is rather worthless, even in endgame and higher difficulty Operations, as Iron Halo is a protective barrier for the front that doesn’t really need to remove Status Effects, because players aren’t really going to run into them.

Negative Status Effects like Toxic and Corruption only serve to disorientate players, and they don’t really do much to stop their progress, so wasting a Prestige Perk for a “break glass in case of an emergency” situation isn’t all that great, especially when it means using Iron Halo just to remove a Status Effect.

6

Exponential Force

Doubles the Damage of Melee Hits

  • Melee Damage increases by 100%

Another perk that players shouldn’t look too much into is Exponential Force. There’s nothing inherently wrong with this Prestige Perk, but there are superior options. With Exponential Force, players will have a great way to fight enemies when they have run out of ammo, but they also need to remember that the heavy weapon that the Heavy Class uses swings extremely slowly with not much damage.

Sure, increasing the damage of the melee swing of the Heavy’s gun by 100% might sound great, but in these situations, it’s best to look for crates and ammo supplies instead of relying on the metal of a gun’s bash to kill enemies, especially since it will barely dent anything but Minoris enemies.

5

Indomitable Spirit

Gun Strikes Grant Temporary Immunity to Being Knocked Back and Taking Heavy Hits

a tyranid recieves a gun strike

  • While performing a Gun Strike, you do not lose control upon taking Heavy Hits, and you cannot be knocked back

Indomitable Spirit is a situational Prestige Perk that some players might want, but it’s also not the most essential. Indomitable Spirit allows players to perform a Gun Strike, and then rewards them with a heavier stance, meaning that they cannot be knocked back or lose control from enemies that provide Heavy Hits.

Space Marine 2: 7 Tips For Success On Angel Of Death Difficulty

Angel of Death difficulty is no joke in Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2. The following tips should help.

It’s nice to remain absolutely solid and hold ground, but when there is a swarm of enemies, sometimes rolling out of the way and stomping is the best thing to keep control over the situation, so remaining like stone and not being knocked down isn’t that effective, especially when players are still going to take damage from the hit in the first place.

4

Auxiliary Reload

Extremis Melee Kills Grant 1 Magazine

spraying the heavy bolt rifle

  • Melee kills of Extremis-level or higher enemies restore your Primary Weapon’s Ammo by 1 Magazine

Since the Heavy Class needs ammo at all costs so that they can lay down suppressing fire and eliminate the endless hordes of Minoris enemies, it’s going to be imperative that they have a way to retrieve ammo when the situation calls for it. As such, Auxiliary Reload is going to be a good Prestige Perk to keep in mind.

Auxiliary Reload means that killing an Extremis-level enemy with a melee kill will restore the Primary Weapon’s ammo by 1 magazine. This means that by using a finisher or a stomp on something like a Lictor or Zoanthrope, players are getting a large chunk of ammo restored to them.

3

Reverberating Impact

Increase the Area-of-Effect of the Stomp by 50%

stomping tyranids

  • Stomp area-of-effect radius increases by 50%

Reverberating Impact is going to be a great Prestige Perk for dealing with Minoris-level enemies, as it will increase the radius of the Heavy Class’s stomp ability. The stomp is a great way to control the enemies as they swarm and overwhelm, as instead of shooting in a circle, players can stomp their boots to clear some great and knock back some of the smaller enemies.

With Reverberating Impact, that area-of-effect obtained with each stomp is increased by 50%, thus providing players with even more breathing room as they try to stomp through the Minoris enemies that would seek to eradicate the player and overwhelm them with their endless hordes.

2

Conviction

Take 25% Less Health Damage for 10 Seconds After Armor Depletes

fighting off tyranids

  • When your Armour is fully depleted, you take 25% less Health Damage for 10 seconds

Balancing armor and health can be difficult, especially in harder-tier difficulties. While health doesn’t regenerate without stims, armor certainly does without extended action and damage, meaning players are going to lose their armor a lot during a fight, but also regain it. As such, Conviction becomes an imperative Prestige Perk for the Heavy Class.

With Conviction at the ready, every time players have their armor fully depleted, they will receive a 25% less Health Damage reduction, which basically provides a stronger body to tank more hits from enemies as players try to take control over the warzone again before their armor comes back. While this only lasts 10 seconds, it’s still a hard perk to beat.

1

Duellist

Increases the Perfect Parry & Perfect Block Window by 25%

parrying a tyranid

  • Perfect Parry and Perfect Block windows increase by 25%

One of the weakest aspects of the Heavy Class comes from their parrying ability. The parry window for both Perfect Parry and Perfect Block is extremely tough to pull off in some cases, especially with how fast enemies move and how slow the Heavy’s weapon is to move into position. In that case, the Duellist Prestige Perk becomes one of the easiest to use that really complements the Heavy’s style.

Duellist will increase that Perfect window by 25%, meaning players will have a better time parrying and blocking damage to ensure the very best of skill faces them in the battlefield. Committing to these Perfect Parries is going to allow players to stay alive longer, and the success of this perk also aids certain perks.
