Dropping a nuke in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the ultimate flex. And if you’re raring to know how to get a nuke in BO6, our guide can help you.
It’s no secret that calling in a nuke is one of the biggest achievements in any Call of Duty multiplayer title. It shows you’ve got the map on lock, your reflexes are fast, and your aim is absolutely deadly.
How to get a nuke in BO6
The nuke is the ultimate hidden killstreak in Black Ops 6. Once earned and activated, it instantly ends the match with your team declared the winner, no matter what the scoreboard shows.

Just like in past CoD games, obtaining it isn’t easy. You’ll need to rack up 30 kills in a row without dying, all in one life. If you slip up and die mid-streak, you’re back to square one.
That’s not the only requirement. You also need to score those kills using guns only. That means no kills from lethal equipment like frags, semtex, or impact grenades, and no help from lethal scorestreaks like the RC-XD, Hellstorm, or Watchdog Helo. It’s all about your raw gun skill.
Once you hit 30 straight gun-only kills, the nuke becomes available as an extra killstreak. And even if you die after earning it, you won’t lose it. Just hit the killstreak button, and you’ll trigger a five-second countdown. During that time, your operator’s hands start burning, and then the iconic mushroom cloud appears at the end to signifiy your victory.
Tips to earn a nuke in BO6
If you’re chasing that sweet 30-gun-kill streak in BO6, you’ll need more than just good aim—your loadout and strategy have to be dialed in.

First off, since only gun kills count, you’ll want to run meta weapons, especially assault rifles or SMGs. The CR-56 AMAX is a beast if you’re into ARs, while the PP-919 is a formidable SMG since launch.
Choose the Stim Shot for your tactical equipment. It keeps you alive longer by giving you a quick health boost and a burst of movement speed. Pair it with the Assault Pack field upgrade, which provides extra ammo and replenishes your Stim that can be clutch on long streaks.
For perks, you might want to go for Flak Jacket to reduce explosive damage, Tracker to see enemy footsteps, and Quartermaster to quickly replenish your Stim Shot. If you’re running around the map to hunt for kills, go all in for red perks, such as Scavenger, Gung-ho, and Hunter’s Instinct to activate the Enforcer Combat Specialty, which grants regeneration and movement buffs after each kill.

Since killstreak kills don’t count toward your nuke, it’s best to run non-lethal scorestreaks like the UAV, Counter-UAV, and HARP. These can help you easily identify enemy positions and the direction they’re heading to while messing up their radar.
The Infected mode is a fan-favorite for nukes. But if you want to play a core mode, Domination is your best bet, especially on Nuketown, as its size is ideal and spawn locations are predictable. Make sure to capture two flags and control the middle area of the map so you can start farming kills.
Once you’re on a streak, don’t get greedy and sprint blindly into gunfights. Leverage your teammates, check your minimap, use UAVs, and keep rotating so you can finally pop that match-ending explosion.
Rewards for dropping nuke in BO6
Besides ending the match in the most dramatic way possible, you’ll also unlock some brag-worthy rewards to flex on your profile. You get the “Nuclear Killer” calling card that lets everyone know you went off and earned that 30-gun kill streak. If you manage to nuke a lobby in Free For All mode, you’ll unlock the “Nuked Out” calling card, which is even rarer since you’re doing it solo with no teammates to back you up.
The real grind is earning the “Very Nuclear” calling card, unlocked by dropping nukes with 25 different weapons. It’s as sweaty as it sounds, but pulling it off basically cements you as a BO6 legend.
