EA FC 25 Reveals First-Ever Paid Season Pass Including Free ICONs & Tradeable Packs

A free Season Pass has existed in EA FC games for several years. If you want an upgraded pass offering tradeable packs, SP, Coins, and even ICONs, the new EA FC 25 Paid Season Pass might hit the back of the net.

I still remember when EA FC (formerly FIFA) introduced a new paid mode called Ultimate Team and didn’t think it would last because people wouldn’t pay for it. In a way, I was right, because the paid model was ditched in favor of a free-to-play system encouraging microtransactions.

Ultimate Team is now a staple of EA FC—and Madden—and generates billions in revenue each year. A free Season Pass has been introduced in recent years, encouraging players to play EA FC and earn rewards. It’s been a fairly generous offering, but the rumored Premium Season Pass content has been shown.

In a direct communication about EA FC 25, the company has unveiled a new Premium Season Pass—to go alongside the free pass—and it costs 500,000 Coins or 1,000 FC Points—roughly $10/£10.

If you have the coins, you technically get the pass for free. Most players likely need to shell out a bit of real money to acquire it if they want the upgrade.

The first-ever paid Premium Pass features 40 Tiers of content to grind toward. All packs are Tradeable (even the 90+ x4), you can earn SP to level passes faster, and an assortment of 94 and 95-rated players can be added to your club—including a 96-rated ICON

As part of Season 7 in #FC25, a new Premium Pass is available as a new tier to the Season Pass across multiple modes.

We teamed up with our Live Content team to share the details on this new ladder, including the specific rewards at each level of the new season:

I’m genuinely shocked it’s taken EA this long to have a paid Season Pass. This will likely make more cash for the company, but do you think EA should have drawn the line at a paid Season Pass?
