EA Sports officially announced both Madden 26 and College Football 26 along with their respective release dates. What was also announced for each game were the available platforms, and that includes a major change for Madden 26 and last-gen systems.

EA Sports confirmed via the game’s website that Madden 26 won’t be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That means the game’s run on the gen-8 systems ends after 12 years.

Instead, Madden 26 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and, for the first time, Nintendo Switch 2. It’s the first Madden game to appear on a Nintendo console since Madden 13 back in 2012.

Madden 26 launches on August 14, 2025. Those who pre-order either the Deluxe Edition or the MVP Bundle get access three days early starting on August 11.

For those interested in College Football 26, that game is set to launch on July 10.
