The new promotional Yu-Gi-Oh! short anime follows the Sky Striker Ace storyline, which is based on the Sky Striker Ace card archetype, a family of female monster cars and their associated auxiliary cards. The anime is adapted from Shin Yoshida (series composition, several Yu-Gi-Oh! projects from the main franchise) and Naohito Miyoshi’s (story & art, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V) Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories manga, which launched in Shueisha’s V Jump magazine in April 2022, beginning with the aforementioned Sky Striker Ace story centering Sky Striker Ace – Raye, as she fights to protect those closest to her, but also develops a connection to Roze, the pilot of a Sky Striker from an enemy nation.

The stories that lie within the cards come to life…

What is interesting about Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game The Chronicles is its focus on monster cards as characters, which isn’t completely beyond the scope of what the OG titles in the franchise did in a number of arcs; like the immense power of the Egyptian God Cards, which affected the environment (which is the same idea as the Dragon cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s), the hilarious Ojama Trio and even the development of an ego seen with Yubel in GX. The cast of the Sky Striker Ace arc of Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game The Chronicles includes Anna Nagase (Ushio Kofune, Summer Time Rendering) as Raye and Nene Hieda (Kamome Kushima, Summer Pockets) as Roze.
