Boruto’s anime is returning. Here’s when fans can expect the anime to return with its second part.

This group of powerful monsters was always going to cause all sorts of problems for the ninjas and they certainly have over the course of the last few chapters. In the battles that unfolded against them, many losses have been observed, which was always to be expected when high-stakes battles are fought.

Ryu And Matsuri Have Officially Fallen In Battle

  • The First Two Shinju Have Fallen in Battle
  • Thorn Soul Bulbs Will be Retrieved

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has finally seen the first two big deaths in the story, and they are of the two Shinju in the Land of Wind. As fans know, Matsuri and Ryu were sent to the Land of Wind and they clashed with Team 7 and the Sand ninjas. The battles were split immediately, with Matsuri being taken care of by Konohamaru, while the younger ninjas ganging up on Ryu.

You dare trick me, Konohamaru? I will not spare you! — Matsuri

The first one to fall in battle was none other than Ryu. Even though Ryu defeated the vast majority of ninjas he was up against, it was Sarada Uchiha who ended up being his downfall. Ryu was defeated by Sarada after the awakening of her Mangekyo Sharingan, which was truly fascinating to see.

Sarada showcased the most powerful Mangekyo Sharingan technique seen in the series so far – Ohirume.

At the same time, Konohamaru could’ve killed Matsuri but hesitated at the last moment. This led to Matsuri counterattacking, but the day was saved when Boruto Uzumaki jumped in and killed her.

It must be noted that two Thorn Soul Bulbs Will most definitely be retrieved here. Ryu’s Thorn Soul Bulb was seen after he fell, which means Shinki can now be saved, and Matsuri’s Thorn Soul Bulb will definitely be taken by Konohamaru. These deaths are, as is clear, permanent.

Yodo Was The Ninja Casualty Of The Mission

Ryu Used His Powers To Kill Yodo

While the Shinju were the main ones to fall in battle in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it didn’t come without any price. As was seen in Two Blue Vortex chapter 21, Yodo, one of the Sand Ninjas, ended up dying. In a way, Yodo gave up her life to save Shinki as it was because of her that Sarada was even able to tap into the powers of the Mangekyo Sharingan in the first place. Boruto confirmed the death of Yodo, which means she cannot be saved anymore, unless something miraculous happens in the upcoming chapters.

Did you know Yodo would die in battle, Koji? Answer me! — Boruto Uzumaki

More Deaths To Follow In Boruto

Regardless, things are about to get even worse as Jura is most likely going to head to the Land of Wind. Using the Claw Marks, it should be very easy for Jura to transport to where Boruto is, as that is his target. Fans could very well have their first Boruto Uzumaki vs Jura battle at their hands, and as Koji previously stated, it will end disastrously for Boruto Uzumaki.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 22 is set for its official release on May 20, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
