Everyone loves a physical game copy, whether you have a tiny collection of physical games or a mountain of media. Oblivion Remastered is technically a 19-year-old game, but a physical copy of its shiny upgrade would look good anywhere.
I’m still a lover of physical media—mainly to trade them in once I’m done with them, but that’s one of the benefits! But you can’t help but notice parts of the industry gravitating toward digital media to phase out physical media. The existence of digital-only hardware is noticeable, and as Switch 2 game costs have shown, digital media is cheaper.
We need to take a stand for physical media, or at least perform a sit-in protest. Before we do this, though, let me guide you through Oblivion Remastered and its physical copy status.
Can You Buy a Physical Copy of Oblivion Remastered?

Oblivion Remastered doesn’t have a physical edition right now and is a digital-only title.
It’s difficult to shadow-drop a physical release. So when Bethesda declared the Oblivion gates open, it was only for digital copies, not physical media. If you’re looking to play Oblivion Remastered with a disc in your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S machine, you’re going to need some serious magic to conjure one because Bethesda doesn’t seem to be doing it.
Will Oblivion Remastered Get a Physical Release?
Bethesda hasn’t given any indication that a physical release of Oblivion Remastered is in the works.
If you need hints that a physical copy is not happening anytime soon, look no further than Bethesda’s nearly 20-minute announcement reveal showcase. Bethesda waxed lyrical about its love for the game and the time and effort that went into the project, and we learned nearly everything we could about the upgrades.
There wasn’t a hint of a physical launch, nor does the official website make any mention of it.
I believe if Oblivion Remastered sells well and Bethesda sees justification in a physical launch, it very well could happen. It’s just my opinion, but it’s logical.
Plus, if the company is still happy to charge players for Horse Armor DLC (again), I don’t see why Bethesda would miss out on the chance to release a physical version—maybe with a limited line of expensive Collector’s Editions. After all, am I missing out on the opportunity to claim a collectible Sweetroll? Nope.
