Summary
- Fortnite Ballistic’s recent update reveals Attackers have a slight advantage on all maps.
- Epic Games is considering changing the price of the Burst Assault Rifle based on player feedback.
- The developers may make adjustments to both maps and core gameplay to even out the win-rate.
Fortnite has updated fans on the current state of its popular 5v5 tactical first-person shooter mode, Fortnite Ballistic, sharing win-rates and other details. Epic Games recently announced a major collaboration between Fortnite and Star Wars, revealing that the popular battle royale will soon receive a full crossover season titled Galactic Battle.
Earlier in April, Epic Games announced that players would be able to engage with new shell maps in Fortnite Ballistic. These maps are, essentially, incomplete. While they do feature full layouts to give players a feel for how the map is structured, they don’t include many of the elaborate details and furnishings one might expect from a complete map. This is because the developers want gamers to test the maps to see how they function. If a map is fully complete, it can be difficult to make major adjustments. Releasing shell maps is a way for developers to see how players interact with them and make changes accordingly. This all appears to be part of why the game mode is labeled as being in early access.

Epic Games recently updated fans on the state of Fortnite Ballistic, giving players a general sense of what they can expect as the developer moves forward with the project. According to shared data, it seems as if the Attackers have a slight advantage over the Defenders on all three of Fortnite Ballistic’s maps. For instance, Attackers have a 52% win-rate on the Storm Chaser Cove map. The recent update stated that the developers will be tweaking the maps and potentially making changes to the core gameplay to bring the win-rate as close to 50% as possible.
Balance Adjustments Are Coming to Fortnite Ballistic
Some adjustments have also been made to weapons in Fortnite Ballistic, like the Hammer Pump Shotgun having its range reduced. The developers have also reduced both the range and damage of the Frenzy Auto Shotgun. Epic Games has even stated that it’s looking into feedback about the Burst Assault Rifle being too powerful for the price at which it can be purchased. The developers have said that they will be monitoring the effectiveness of the weapon and may adjust its price accordingly based on their findings.
While Fortnite Ballistic is quite different from the game’s main battle royale mode, a large portion of the community seems to be enjoying their time with it. Since release, one of the audience’s biggest complaints has been a lack of content, which the developers have tried to correct by adding new weapons, maps, and gadgets. So far, the additions seem to have been a breath of fresh air for players. With three maps to enjoy and even more content on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite Ballistic.
