Ted Timmins, who became a household name in the Call of Duty: Warzone community, has joined Epic Games to work on Fortnite as a Design Director. Timmins was previously a Senior Creative Director at Raven Software, working on Call of Duty: Warzone, and has contributed to five different Call of Duty titles during his four years at the studio.
Since its launch in 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone has become one of the most popular Battle Royale games around, alongside the likes of Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and others. While Warzone is completely free-to-play, it is fully integrated with each mainline Call of Duty title, which are released annually. The most recent entry was Black Ops 6, and while its leading developer was Treyarch Studios, Raven Software co-developed the title, working on its single-player campaign while also preparing Warzone for its integration with Season 1.

Ted Timmins Joins Fortnite
Following the hugely successful launch of Season 3 earlier this month, Ted Timmins announced he would be departing Warzone as the game’s Senior Creative Director. Timmins said that working on five Call of Duty titles, forty seasons of content, and five hundred quality-of-life updates had been “a truly incredible journey.” At the time, it was unknown where the ex-Warzone developer was headed, but Timmins has now confirmed that he’s officially started work on Fortnite as a Design Director.
Throughout Timmins’ four years at Raven Software, he had become well-known among the community, actively engaging with players to receive feedback and update fans on new adjustments. With the ex-Director now working on another hugely popular Battle Royale title, one can only assume that Timmins will be just as engaged with the Fortnite community as he was with Warzone‘s.
A follow-up post from Timmins thanked fans for their kind words, saying that he feels “truly humbled” to be a part of Fortnite’s future. Timmins has joined the title at a significant moment, as Fortnite is currently gearing up for a new Star Wars season on May 2. Fans can expect to find a whole host of new Star Wars-themed skins and items making their way to the game when the new season kicks off next month.
As for Warzone, it remains currently unknown who will replace Timmins as the Senior Creative Director. The hit Battle Royale title recently launched its third season, featuring the highly anticipated return of Verdansk, as well as the comeback of some iconic Modern Warfare weapons, classic gameplay features, and much more.
