Below, are specific instructions and steps for how to complete The Path of Dawn in Oblivion Remastered, along with how to acquire each of the Mythic Dawn books and solve the Mythic Dawn book puzzle that is contained within.
How to Acquire the Mythic Dawn Book 1 in Oblivion Remastered
To begin the quest, players will want to head into Luther Broad’s Boarding House, found in the Imperial City’s Elven Gardens District. Once inside, sit at the bar next to Baurus, where he will speak to the player with discretion. Baurus instructs players to let him stand up and to follow the mysterious man, Astav Wirich, who will follow him. This will lead players into the cellar of the Boarding House, where Astav Wirich will become hostile and reveal himself as a Mythic Dawn agent, so must be killed. Once eliminated, players will need to loot the Mythic Dawn agent for the Mythic Dawn Commentaries 1 book. With the book in your inventory, speak to Baurus, who instructs players to speak to Tar-Meena at the Arcane University.
How to Acquire the Mythic Dawn Book 2 in Oblivion Remastered
Once players have their instructions, it’s time to head to the Arcane University. Players can find the Arcane University in the southeast area of the Imperial City, and once inside, Tar-Meena will be sitting in the central lobby. Upon interacting with her, ask about the Mythic Dawn, and tell her that you have found one of their books. This dialogue chain will conclude with Tar-Meena giving players the Mythic Dawn Commentaries 2, leaving them with just 2 more Mythic Dawn books to obtain. From here, Tar-Meena tells players to head to the First Edition Bookstore in the Imperial City’s Market District.
How to Acquire the Mythic Dawn Book 3 in Oblivion Remastered
Upon visiting First Edition, players can interact with the store owner, Phintias, who lets players know that he does have the Mythic Dawn Book 3, but he’s not going to give it up as it’s already been sold to a man named Gwinas. Luckily, there are multiple ways to acquire the Mythic Dawn Book 3, and each of them can be found below:
- The Mythic Dawn Book 3 can be looted from the chest close to the basement, but this requires lockpicking and Phintias will usually be watching. To successfully avoid Phintias detecting players, let him follow you upstairs and then sprint to the chest and crouch immediately so that the eyeball begins to close.
- The Mythic Dawn Book 3 can be purchased for 100 gold if Phintias has a Disposition above 80 in his persuasion wheel, so he can either be bribed or players can attempt the dialogue wheel minigame.
- The Mythic Dawn Book 3 can be given to players from Gwinas once he buys the book and is told that the Mythic Dawn are the ones who killed the emperor.
- The Mythic Dawn Book 3 can be acquired by pickpocketing or killing and looting Gwinas when he purchases the book, but it’s not advised to kill Gwinas or make him alert the guards by robbing him, as it will be unwanted trouble.
Regardless of how players obtain the book, they should converse with Gwinas and warn him about the Mythic Dawn so that they can obtain dialogue about the Mythic Dawn Book 4, where he will then give players a note to direct them towards a secret meeting with a sponsor in the Sunken Sewers.
How to Acquire the Mythic Dawn Book 4 in Oblivion Remastered
After acquiring Mythic Dawn Book 3, head back to the Boarding House, speak to Baurus, and let him know of the secret meeting with a sponsor in the Sunken Sewers. This will be helpful, as Baurus will now direct players through the sewers, and all they have to fight are goblins and mudcrabs. The location of the sewers can be found in the Elven Gardens District at the southeast garden. Once players enter through the sewers, they will eventually reach the meeting point. Regardless of whether they enter the vantage point to let Baurus enter the meeting, or players sit in the meeting themselves, Mythic Dawn agents will make a surprise appearance and become hostile, forcing players to fight them and Raven Camoran.
To obtain the Mythic Dawn Book 4, players must kill Raven Camoran and loot it from his body. It’s also important to loot the Sunken Sewers Key to leave through locked doors. Once this book has been acquired, players have all 4 Mythic Dawn Books, and they can now leave the sewers. It’s easier to go out the way you came, as other pathways take longer and can be confusing.
How to Solve the Mythic Dawn Book Puzzle in Oblivion Remastered
Now that players have all four books, they will want to solve the puzzle that they contain. While players can venture back to the Arcane University and give the books to Tar-Meena for hints each in-game day, it’s easier to solve the puzzle right here. To solve the Mythic Dawn Book puzzle, enter your inventory and read the volumes in their numbered order, and pay attention to the first letter of every paragraph of each page, which is highlighted as a large letter. Reading through the first letter in each paragraph across all four books will spell the following text chain:
- GREEN EMPEROR WAY WHERE THE TOWER TOUCHES MIDDAY SUN
With the Mythic Dawn Puzzle code cracked, players will now want to head to the Imperial City, Green Emperor Way, which is the location of the Imperial Palace. Once at the towering Imperial Palace, players will want to head to the west side, where they can find a round grave, which is known as the Tomb of Prince Camarril. Face the Tomb of Prince Camarril and wait until the time reaches midday (12 PM). Doing so will reveal a red symbol etched into the stone wall, where players can now interact with it to conclude The Path of Dawn quest and start the next quest, the Dagon Shrine, where the next objective to head to is at Lake Arrius Caverns, a location just north of Cheydinhal.
Players can return to Cloud Ruler Temple to talk to Baurus, where they will receive a free increase for Blade, Block, and Heavy Armor skills.
