Similar to Ash Logs, Oak Logs are one of the base materials in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, used to construct various buildings, storage items, weapons, and decorations. Chopping down Oak trees requires a certain tool, though, and your standard axe won’t do the job.
Here’s how you can get Oak logs in RuneScape: Dragonwilds to decorate your base, craft more weapons, and expand your fortress.
Getting Oak Wood in RuneScape Dragonwilds
To acquire Oak Logs, you need to chop down Oak trees. This isn’t possible with your standard axe, and you will need to first craft a Bronze Logging Axe at the Smithing Anvil.
The Bronze Logging Axe can be smithed at the Smithing Anvil using the following materials:
Output | Materials Required |
---|---|
Bronze Logging Axe | Bronze Bar x5 Ash Logs x4 Coarse Thread x2 |
Spotting Oak Trees
Oak trees aren’t exactly rare, but they are a bit uncommon compared to Ash trees. Identifying them is simple, though, as they have a thicker and darker bark with a larger spread compared to Ash trees.

Get close enough and you’ll see the label for Oak tree. Once you’ve spotted a tree, equip the Bronze Logging Axe or anything better in your inventory, and chop it down like you would a regular Ash tree. After that, break down the smaller logs to obtain tons of Oak Logs.

You can also use the Axtral Projection skill to chop down the tree, but you will still have to chop down the log pieces into smaller chunks.

What can you make with Oak Logs?
Oak Logs are used as one of the materials to construct several different decorations, building parts, storage boxes, tools, workstations, and even weapons. Here is a list of these discovered so far:
