Players will travel to the Gestral Village during Act 1 of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and they will participate in a tournament while they are there. After completing that tournament, and speaking with Golgra, players will be free to leave the village, though a comment about a “back door” may cause a bit of confusion. This guide is here to alleviate that confusion, and it will help players leave the Gestral Village in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Players may want to spend some time exploring the Gestral Village before they leave it. Indeed, there are some items to be found on this map, including several Pictos and a Recoat that can be used to respec a character in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it is even home to a door that leads to the Manor.

How to Leave the Gestral Village in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
To put things simply, players are intended to leave the Gestral Village through the portal that was used to enter it. To reach that portal, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players must simply follow the wooden slat path that starts at the entrance to the Chief’s House, and coming into contact with the portal will instantly transport the party to the Continent. Notably, players will pass by an Expedition Flag as they walk towards the portal, and they may want to take a moment to rest, upgrade attributes, and learn skills.
Where is the Back Door in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
The final conversation with Golgra may lead some players to believe that they are to exit the Gestral Village via the “back door” that the chief references, but that is not the case. The door is actually on the Continent map, and players will not see it until after they have left the village. More specifically, players will find that a large wooden door just southeast of the Gestral Village portal has swung open, allowing them to easily travel to Esquie’s Nest, the next location that is of interest on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘s map.
The opening of this door means that players no longer need to pass through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘s Ancient Sanctuary if they want to reach the Gestral Village, as they can simply approach its entry portal from the southeast. This is why Golgra suggests that it will now be easier for the party to come back and visit the Gestrals, and players may want to do exactly that the next time they are in the area.
