That said, here is a list of early-game sources that players may find helpful:

The bosses at the end of maps occasionally award Recoats when defeated, including the one at the end of Flying Waters and the one at the end of Stone Wave Cliffs.
Petanks award 1x Recoat when defeated. These enemies can be found on several early-game maps, including the Ancient Sanctuary, Stone Wave Cliffs, and Esquie’s Nest.
The Gestral Merchant in the Gestral Village’s Bazaar sells 1x Recoat. Players will find that many Merchants that they encounter throughout the game also sell the material.
