Kingdom Come Director Hopes AI Helps Him Release More Games

Kingdom Come director and Warhorse Studios co-founder Daniel Vávra has a lot of ideas for games and is hoping that AI will help those ideas become reality.

In a new interview with The Game Business, Vávra talked about the development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a game that has been widely praised by both critics and fans alike. At one point of his talk, Vávra revealed that the final 12 months of the game’s development was tough for him due “serious health issues”.

During that struggle where he admitted that he needed to “slow down a little bit”, Vávra showed frustration with how long modern games take to develop. That’s led to a hope that AI gets to the point where it will help in development, leading to releases in a shorter order.

“It really annoys me that the games take so much time, because I have more ideas than I have time,” he said. “There are a couple of projects that I would love to do. And I would love to prepare them properly, so it’s not as chaotic. I hope that the AI revolution will help with this, where in the future we will not be replaced by AI, but we will be helped by AI. So a lot of the things could get easier and faster.

He continued: “It will be great if this would happen. I have a couple of big ideas that I would like to make that will require a lot of time and preparation…. A couple of projects that, in my opinion, have as big potential as Kingdom Come: Deliverance.”
