Marvel Rivals Is Adding Costume Customization

Marvel Rivals has announced that it will be adding a new costume customization feature to the popular hero shooter on April 17 at 2 AM PDT. NetEase Games recently released Season 2: Hellfire Gala and debuted a new map of Krakoa in Marvel Rivals, which features a large statue of Professor X. While unconfirmed, many people seem to think the developers are teasing the arrival of the powerful mutant in the near future.

The popular hero shooter recently showcased a new costume for Doctor Strange in Marvel Rivals based on his appearance near the end of the MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The fresh skin gives the Vanguard a zombie makeover, showing off his grotesque body with numerous hands sprouting from his shoulders. His usual flowing red cloak has also taken on a sinister look, as the fabric seems to have been replaced by dark wisps of magic. While there’s no official word on just how much the cosmetic bundle will cost, players will be able to get their own hands on the skin on April 17 at 7 PM PDT.

Marvel Rivals gives players a first glimpse of two new skins for the Vanguards Peni Parker and Doctor Strange in NetEase Games’ popular hero shooter.

In a recent post on Twitter, NetEase Games revealed that it will be adding a costume customization feature to popular outfits on April 17 at 2 AM PDT. The characters shown in the announcement image were Marvel Rivals Magik, Winter Soldier, Luna Snow, and Psylocke. Magik’s punk-themed outfit will be receiving a recolor called Rosy Resilience, while Psylocke’s Vengeance costume will be getting a new style called Phantom Purple. Luna Snow’s 2099 outfit will be receiving a Plasma Pulse makeover, and Winter Soldier’s vampire-themed costume will be getting a new style called Winter’s Wrath. While these are the only heroes shown in the preview image, it’s always possible that NetEase Games could introduce even more costume customization options when the patch officially launches.

The new feature was teased by the developers leading up to Season 2 of Marvel Rivals, but fans were never given a timeline or release date. In order to take advantage of the new cosmetic options, fans will need to go to the game’s store and claim the new styles for free. After that, the new option will be available to choose in the costume tab for the corresponding hero.

Gamers looking to collect more free cosmetics might want to consider completing challenges to earn Chrono Tokens. While every skin in the battle pass can be earned after buying it, players can claim skins for Magik and Iron Fist in Marvel Rivals without purchasing the pass. With the new costume customization feature on the way and even more updates to look forward to, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
