Persona 4 Remake Announcement Could Be Happening Soon

The web domain for a potential Persona 4 Remake was reportedly updated on April 21, as a source claimed that a reveal from Atlus and Sega could be imminent. The source stated that one of the earliest windows that a remake of Persona 4 could appear would be the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, which runs alongside the annual Summer Game Fest.

Originally released on the PS2 in 2008, Persona 4 followed its predecessors by offering players a blend of turn-based RPG combat with social life simulation elements. Set in the small fictional town of Inaba, Japan, players assume the role of high school transfer student Yu Narukami. After news of a murder shakes Inaba to its core, Yu teams up with his classmates to investigate the mysterious “TV World” and its connection to Inaba’s crime wave. Although an enhanced version called Persona 4 Golden was later released on multiple platforms, the graphical and gameplay style of Persona 4 remained firmly in the PS2 era.

While rumors of a possible Persona 4 Remake announcement have been persistent, new evidence may lend credence to some imminent news. According to Twitter user Msoni187 (and corroborated by Persona Central), the web domain for Persona 4 Remake was updated on April 21, nearly a month after it was initially created. This follows a past pattern of Persona web domain names being updated by Atlus or its partners shortly before any major game announcements.

Persona 4 Remake Web Domain Update Could Signal Imminent Game Announcement

The updated web domain, dubbed “P4RE.JP”, currently gives users a retrieval error when typed into a web browser. Additionally, no internal address for the web domain’s host was included in the backend data. Although it is unclear if this Persona 4 Remake web domain belongs to Atlus, the timing of the domain update lines up with similar timeframes.

For example, Persona 3 Reload had its “P3R.JP” domain registered in March 2023, with an update the following June, just before the game was leaked. As for a potential window for Persona 4 Remake to be shown off, Msoni187 stated that the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8 is the most likely time. The Xbox Games Showcase is part of the 2025 Summer Game Fest schedule, which begins with the SGF Live broadcast on June 6.

With Persona 3 Reload borrowing graphical and gameplay elements from Persona 5 Royal, it stands to reason that Persona 4 Remake could follow in their footsteps. Only time will tell when Sega and Atlus will pull back the curtain on the Persona series’ future.
