Star Wars Zero Company is Primed for a Specific Line of Cameos

Star Wars Zero Company was recently announced, and it’s proving to be an intriguing addition to the Star Wars game roster. Being developed by Respawn and newcomer Bit Reactor, Star Wars Zero Company is taking a single-player turn-based tactics approach to the franchise, which could prove to be a good change of pace.

The official website for Star Wars states, “Recruit an unconventional team of operatives and deploy them on missions unlike any other in the galaxy far, far away.” This idea would be exciting enough on its own, but what’s even more intriguing is that Star Wars Zero Company takes place during the Clone Wars. This is one of the most notable eras in Star Wars lore, and with Respawn assisting in the game’s development, it could leave the door open for some exciting nods to Fallen Order and Survivor.

Star Wars Zero Company Could Feature References to Some of Fallen Order and Survivor’s Best Characters

Fallen Order takes place five years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, which allows the former to feature plenty of Clone Wars references. Mentions of the Nightsisters and General Grievous are just the tip of the iceberg, and it wouldn’t be too surprising if some of Fallen Order and Survivor‘s characters were either mentioned or got their own full-blown cameo.

Bit Reactor was founded in 2021.

A Peek Into Cal Kestis’ Life Before Order 66

  • Cal was only 13-years-old when Order 66 went into effect.
  • Cal’s Master, Jaro Tapal, sacrificed himself to save the Paduwan.

Since Star Wars Zero Company is a turn-based game, it’s unlikely to have the same deep story arcs as Fallen Order and Survivor, but there is still plenty of room to reference some compelling plot points. A potential run-in with a young Cal or even running into Jaro Tapal before Order 66 is enacted could both be fascinating teases of what’s to come.

Other Star Wars Jedi Characters That Could Be Mentioned

  • Cere Junda
  • Greez Dritus
  • Merrin
  • Prauf
  • Second Sister

Whether it be through an actual surprise supporting role or being mentioned through lore that can be discovered in the game, Star Wars Zero Company has a lot of room to play around with the characters that Respawn brought to life. Finding details throughout the story that give deeper insight into some of these Star Wars Jedi heroes and villains would be a big thrill for some of the series’ biggest fans.

It was recently confirmed that Ryan Gosling will be starring in a new Star Wars movie. The film is titled Star Wars: Starfighter and is being directed by Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy. It is set to hit theaters on May 28, 2027.

Well-Balanced Cameos Would Be On Brand for Respawn

Respawn is well-versed in weaving the existing canon of Star Wars into its own stories, and Star Wars Zero Company is bound to follow this tradition. Although Respawn is working in tandem with Bit Reactor, the former is still likely to be advising on specific lore, so the game can be as accurate to the timeline as possible.

Although Star Wars Zero Company may very well be its own standalone story that doesn’t feature any major character cameos from other series, it will be exciting to see how Respawn approaches assisting a turn-based project. Since Bit Reactor is made up of XCOM and Civilization devs, the newer studio is definitely taking the lead on the gameplay elements. If Respawn is handling most of the story, though, then fun Easter eggs may be a given.
