Stardew Valley: How to Catch Ice Pip

Fishing is one of five core skills in Stardew Valley that your farmer can level up by catching fish. Catching every fish out there in the Valley is a key requirement for achieving true game perfection. If you’re working towards that goal, you’ll often find yourself hunting down a specific fish, like Ice Pips.

The Ice Pip is a rare fish in Stardew Valley with a pale blue body with darker blue markings, giving it a cool, icy vibe. This guide covers everything players need to know about catching an Ice Pip and its uses in Stardew Valley.

Where To Catch Ice Pip in Stardew Valley

Unfortunately, you can’t just cast your line anywhere around the Valley and expect to reel in an Ice Pip

. These fish only thrive in cold environments, so you can find Ice Pips in the Mines, specifically on Level 60. There aren’t any time or weather constraints, meaning you can find the Ice Pip here at any time during all seasons in Stardew Valley.

Since you’ll be in the mines, make sure you have decent weapons and are prepared for any monsters you might encounter.

Even at a high Fishing level (10) and in a good fishing spot (zone 5), your base chance of snagging an Ice Pip is relatively low, only 6.45%. This really emphasizes how rare these fish are. You can increase your chances of hooking an Ice Pip by equipping a Curiosity Lure

and using an Ice Pip Bait.

You can purchase Ice Pip Bait from the Fish Shop during the Summers and Winters.
