It has two very different meanings.
In Marvel Rivals, you may see the fairly cryptic “Ace” pop up in the middle of your screen or appear as a tag over a player’s name in the overview screen. While there’s nothing to worry as it’s an achievement, Ace indicates different meanings depending on how it appears.
As a hero shooter featuring a bunch of unique characters and too many confusing mechanics and interactions, Marvel Rivals isn’t an easy game to master. So, if you’re struggling to understand a vague feature like the Ace, know that you aren’t alone. Don’t worry—we’ve explained what Ace means in Marvel Rivals and everything else you need to know in this guide.
What is Ace in Marvel Rivals?

There are two situations in which you may spot the “Ace” in Marvel Rivals:
- Pops up on your screen as Galacta screams “You got them all!” in a match.
- Shows up on the top of your name or your teammates’ when you bring up the player overview screen while in a match.
Now, these circumstances point to different meanings.
If the Ace is on your screen
It means you’ve wiped the complete enemy team off the playable map.
To get this kind of Ace in Marvel Rivals, all enemies should be in their respawning phase at a single point of time. So, you need to eliminate all enemy players at about the same time, before any one of them respawns and enters the playable map.
If the Ace is on your or your teammates’ name
If you see an orange Ace tag on a player’s name in the overview tab, it means that they’re the best performing player of the team at that moment. As the match progresses, you may see this Ace tag jump from player to player depending on who’s contributing the most and according to the MVP system.
The player with this tag at the end of the game is crowned the MVP or SVP of their team.
Tips to get an Ace kill in Marvel Rivals
To get an Ace team kill, your goal is to achieve a full wipe on the enemy team. It’s generally easiest to do this with the help of your allies, so make sure you focus on working with your teammates. Don’t go into battles alone and look for opportunities to strike when the entire enemy team is grouped up.
You can also secure a team Ace by using a massive ultimate at the right moment. You need an ultimate capable of wiping out or grouping up all enemy players at once if used right. Not all characters have powers that work for this, so choose who you play as carefully.
Some heroes who have the perfect ultimates for a team wipe include Jeff the Land Shark, Psylocke, Scarlet Witch, Storm, Moon Knight, Groot, and Spider-Man. Loki is great too, considering he can steal any ultimate and use it achieve a team wipe. The God of Mischief also adds an element of surprise to your side, since the enemy team has to figure who he copied and what ultimate is coming their way.

How to become the Ace in Marvel Rivals
To become the Ace on your team, you need to perform the best overall. This means focusing on being a team player with balanced statistics. You want to get kills, secure assists, grant healing, block damage, land final hits, and overall help your allies complete the objective.
Any character can become the Ace if you know how to play them, but it’s generally easiest to secure this title as a Strategist. In this role, you’re more likely to have balanced statistics overall, making it a lot easier to be the Ace and eventually your team’s MVP.
The term Ace isn’t the only confusing one you’ll come across while playing Marvel Rivals. You may want to review our Marvel Rivals glossary to ensure you know what all other terms you may encounter mean.
