Tim Allen Has Revealed Fresh Information About Toy Story 5
He Has Given A Glimpse Of What People Should Expect
There isn’t tons of information known about Toy Story 5, but Allen continues to reveal interesting snippets of information. The voice of Buzz previously confirmed that the story is set to be focused on Jessie, which will be an interesting twist in comparison to the previous four movies. However, he recently confirmed that Woody and Buzz will reunite at some stage in Toy Story 5. While it was already known that the two lead characters of the franchise would be involved in the film in some capacity, audiences have been wondering whether they would end up coming back together, given the previous film’s ending.
However, it has now been confirmed that they’re going to be together for at least a portion of Toy Story 5, which is exciting to many fans. However, there’s an obvious risk factor in bringing the characters back together due to all the stories that have been told up until this point and whether or not it’s worth potentially damaging that for the sake of another movie.
Bringing Buzz Lightyear And Woody Back Together Is A Risk
This Might End Up Ruining Toy Story 4’s Ending
While seeing Buzz and Woody back together is going to be a lot of fun, there is the chance that Pixar could end up ruining what was achieved in Toy Story 4. After the third movie’s beautiful and emotional ending, as Andy said goodbye to his childhood toys, fans wondered how Pixar could top things to get the right impact. The creative team did a fantastic job by having Woody leave the rest of the group to be with Bo Peep instead and live freely without an owner. It was a highly emotional goodbye between them, and the idea of bringing Woody back together with Buzz feels like it might dampen that impact when fans rewatch the film.
Seeing them back by each other’s side will be a lot of fun for audiences, and there’s no doubt a very emotional scene that can be pulled from that, too, especially if there’s a big time gap between the movies. However, just throwing them together to create another movie shouldn’t be the situation here. There has to be a purpose and a genuine reason for this to happen in a bid to make Toy Story 5 matter and feel like it was necessary and not just a cash grab.
Toy Story Fans Wanted Them To Be Back Together
Pixar Will Need To Put Together An Interesting Storyline To Make This Work
When heading into Toy Story 5, there’s going to be a certain expectation amongst audiences that Woody and Buzz will be shown together in some capacity, as that is what the entire franchise has been built upon. However, because of how good the ending to Toy Story 4 was, it needs to be handled delicately to make sure that it isn’t just being done for the sake of it. Pixar has to respect the work that has been put in place previously. It feels like the ending to Toy Story 4 was done without thinking there could be another movie down the line, and now they’re desperately seeing how they can be brought back together because that’s what people want to see.
There is also an element of realism that must be considered for this movie. While audiences have to suspend their disbelief to a point for a movie based around talking toys, Pixar has tried to build the Toy Story world to be one that is realistic and could happen. They work hard to avoid being spotted by humans, and that is why Woody and Buzz’s reunion must make sense. Traveling great distances isn’t something that the characters can do quickly. Given the fact that Buzz and Woody have no idea where the other is going into this film, it will be interesting to see how Pixar brings them back together. Seeing them reunite is going to be a high point of Toy Story 5 for many fans, but it’s crucial that this risk doesn’t ruin the previous moments.
