The intense series reached its climax on the fifth map, Ascent, and kicked off with an unbelievable 4K from cgrs. Paper Rex gained an early advantage with a great 1v2 clutch by d4v41 during the bonus round, taking a commanding 3-0 lead.
However, Evil Geniuses swiftly countered with a surprising low buy victory of their own, shifting the momentum of the map. The score quickly leveled at 3-3 as EG started dominating the game on their attack side, securing victory in nearly every round except one, following PRX’s initial three.
Evil Geniuses gained further control with a pistol round win and successful anti-eco conversion, getting them to an impressive 10-4 lead. It appeared that the Americans were on the path to sealing the series, especially as Paper Rex’s defense faltered. The map concluded shortly after with a final score of 13-8 in favor of EG, securing the series victory at 3-2.
