Valorant got some updates in system requirements to play the game. With the launch of Episode 6 Act 1, now Valorant players can no longer play VALORANT on Windows 7.
Unfortunately, Valorant hasn’t included this in the patch notes released for Episode 6.
What actually happened with Windows 7 & Valorant
Posted by a popular Valorant leaks provider, @ValorLeaks posted “Due to changes made today, you can no longer play VALORANT on Windows 7. | #VALORANT“
This means all the Valorant players out there can no longer able to run valorant on the Windows 7 OS.
This change is made effective to protect players and users from cheaters. Also, Windows 7 was launched in 2009, which is quite old nowadays.
Why Valorant can no longer support Windows 7 OS
As a modern game, Valorant needs to maintain its features and system resource support to provide better in-game performance for the players. With the end of Windows 7 support by Microsoft, it can no longer be useful to develop games and optimize for this Windows 7 OS version.
Riot Games uses an anti-cheat called Riot Vanguard for Valorant. Due to the outdated version of Windows 7, the anti-cheat just can’t function properly. That’s why Valorant cut the Windows 7 OS support to play the game.
What should you do?
If you are a passionate gamer, try to update your OS to Windows 10 & 11. Most of game developers, game drivers, software, etc are developing their products for these OS versions.
Upgrade your OS to the latest one to enjoy a flawless gaming experience. Also, Valorant got a new map, updates, and skins for players to explore.
Let’s discuss more on this in the comment box below.
